Season format

April to September.

Planned as eight championship rounds across the season, with flexibility around dates to suit members where possible.

Championship scoring

  • 8 planned championship rounds.
  • One overall season-long championship.
  • Round 1 is medal, with the format alternating every event.
  • Round 8 — the final round — is Stableford.
  • Your best 6 full round scores from the 8 events count toward the championship.
  • Finishing points run from 10 points for 1st down to 3 points for 8th: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3.
  • If you play a 7th round, your best 6 still count in full and you receive 1 extra attendance point for that additional round.
  • If you play all 8 rounds, your best 6 still count in full and you receive 2 extra attendance points — one for each additional round.
  • If you attend only 6 rounds, those 6 rounds make up your championship total with no extra attendance points.
  • The maximum possible championship total is 62 points.
  • An official handicap must be provided before the championship begins.

Round order: Medal · Stableford · Medal · Stableford · Medal · Stableford · Medal · Stableford.

On the day

  • Every round has its own winner's medal — plus bragging rights going into the next round.
  • Optional £5 nearest-the-pin competition across the par 3s.
  • If nobody hits the green, the nearest-the-pin pot rolls over.
  • Selected longest-drive competitions during the season.
Championship points

Best six. Reward the golfers who keep turning up.

Your best six full scoring rounds decide the championship, while rounds seven and eight can still add valuable attendance points.

BEST 6 OF 8

Your strongest six count in full

Only your six highest round scores are added together for the main championship total. If you only play six rounds, those six become your full championship score.

EXTRA ATTENDANCE

Rounds 7 and 8 are still worth 1 point

Play a seventh event and you add 1 attendance point on top of your best six. Play all eight and you add 2 attendance points in total. This gives everyone a reason to keep showing up even if a round will not make their best six.

MAXIMUM SCORE

62 points

Win six rounds for 60 points, then attend the other two events for 1 additional point each. That makes the maximum possible championship total 62.

Season prizes
